The FPM Foundation (FPMF) was established in 1997 by the employees of Aerodynamics Inc. in honor of Frank Macartney, ADI's founder.
Over the past 50 years, Mr. Macartney has established himself as a respected aviator and mentor within the business aviation community where his leadership, commitment to excellence and integrity, and his devotion to improving the quality of life for his employees, and the lives of aspiring collegiate aviation students have provided the tenants guiding the FPM Foundation today.
The FPM Foundation awards aviation scholarships to outstanding students enrolled in Aviation Management, Maintenance or Flight curriculums at various colleges, universities, and technical schools throughout the great state of Michigan. These scholarships consist of several substantial cash awards funded by proceeds from the annual FPMF Golf Outing/Fundraiser, scheduled for Friday August 19, 2011 at the Bay Pointe Golf Club in West Bloomfield, Michigan and aviation training courses that have been generously donated by FlightSafety International. This event is attended and sponsored by business aviation professionals from all corners of our industry.
Since our inception 14 years ago, the foundation has awarded scholarships valued at over $600,000 to 130 future aviation professionals in addition to orchestrating numerous internships, job placements and career mentoring relationships.
By supporting our future aviation leaders, the FPM Foundation strives to ensure that Frank Macartney's legacy will forever be associated with enhancing the growth of the business aviation industry we all so passionately embrace.
